Sustainable Innovation

The PDMA Sustainable Innovation SIG was created in July 2010 and will identify best practices, create a body of knowledge and increase the value created by the innovation discipline through the application of sustainability principles.

A working draft of the Sustainable Innovation SIG mission statement is 'to identify and promote strategies and practices that enhance shareholder value while securing continuous improvement in enviromental impact of, and social benefit from, the products, services and processes created or improved by the innovation discipline." It is anticipated that all aspects of sustainable innovation (materials, process, distribution/delivery, life cycle impact, packaging, research, portfolio and business model) will be considered and advanced by the SIG.
